Adler Meidelstetten

Greg's Blues Nights 2005

Frankisher Tag Newspaper September 2002 The ten year anniversary of the Schmölzer Blues Days was a great success.Three days of best summer weather ensured a full festival tent. The fans enjoyed different styles of blues from eight internatioal acts. Highlight of the Saturday evening , and for many fans also for the three days, was the concert from the ''Fast Eddy's Blue Band'' with the musical world traveller, Eddy Wilkinson as frontman. The small Englander and his German band played with power numerous Blues and Blues Rock numbers from B.B. King to Freddy King and Muddy Waters to Free. Not only the singer's voice reminded one of Joe Cocker at his peak, but also his stage actions. Also great was his harmonica playing. Quieter, but no less thrilling, were his own songs where he accompanied the band with acoustic guitar. The performance rose to real Blues magic, recalling early concerts of Kevin Coyne. The warm sound of Klaus Brosowski's Hammond Organ was the perfect contrast to the sharp guitar and harmonica attacks.

Alb Bote Newspaper April 2002. "The Fast Eddy's Blue Band has almost become an institution in the culture pub, Adler, Meidelstetten. Good Blues and a super live show are always worth a visit when they play. This time it was no exception.

Stuttgarter Nachrichten Newspaper December 2001 Laboratorium The frontman showed the range of his vocals between Chris Farlowe and Joe Cocker, the band demonstated that they knew all the classics from the Chess Studios, and the audience could imagine how the early Yardbirds or Stones would of sounded when they toured their Blues through Europe: ''Let the good times roll" still rings true.

Ludwigsburg Kreis Zeitung Newspaper January 2001 Eddy Wilkinson, better known as ''Fast Eddy'' played with his band in the Jazzclub Ludwigsburg to a soldout house. His powerful art of interpreting the Blues sends shivers down the spine. He is blessed with a voice known otherwise only to singers of the calibre of Joe Cocker, Bruce Springsteen or Bryan Adams. However, ''Fast Eddy'' puts his own stamp on it, and sings with all his heart and soul. With an excellent band, nothing can go wrong. Guitarist Guido Dieringer's style fits the band perfectly, and he receives enthusiastic applaus for his great solos. A full, roaring Hammond-sound from Keyboarder Klaus Brosowski brings back memories of the high points of the British Blues movement of the 60's and 70's.

Heidenheimer Zeitung April 2000 ''Fast Eddy's Blue Band'' brought the Cafe News on Thursday to boiling point. The well visited concert was a feast for Blues fans. Even though seated, the whole audience was moving and grooving to the music. Eddy on stage appeared to sink totally into the world of the Blues and was perfectly supported by his band. The Heidenheimer saxophonist Lee Mayall joined the Quintett during ''Rock me Baby.''As the Nephew of John Mayall grabbed his Baritone Sax, the deep, voluminous melody penetrated right to the bone. After a short pause, the Combo gave all: Guitarist and Saxophonist were playing together on the tables. The ''News'' was raised to the epicentre. The audience wouldn't let the musicians leave the stage. Thanks to standing ovations the band played a 30 minute encore.

Blues News CD Review von "Blues Hunter" 2000 Very artfully played, and with powerful singing, this band from Baden Württemberg should be taken notice of. The musical ability is impressive and belongs without question to the best that the Badenener- and Schwabenland has to offer from the Blues sector. Also the sound of this CD is faultless.
